The new edition of BITEG 2014 – International Food & Wine Tourism
Exchange, the sole Italian business opportunity for specialized
Italian sellers and domestic and international demand operators, will face Expo
2015 and travel 2.0.
The 15th edition of BITEG (the seventh one held in Piedmont)
scheduled 15th to 18th May 2014 will strategically
take place in east Piedmont, nearby the Expo 2015 venue, in order to work out
in tourism and system terms values of the Piedmontese and Italian food and wine
sector: Tradition, creativity and innovation.
Over 200 operators specialized in the sale of food and wine tourist
packages will hold in May direct individual meetings between demand and
supply in the ‘B2B’ workshop: more than 100 sellers coming from whole Italy
- cooperatives, product clubs, incoming agencies, tourism local systems, wine
routes, hotel chains and individual accommodation with distinctive features –
and about a hundred buyers, both Italian and foreign, like tour operators, tour
organizers, bus operators, incentive, Circle Recreational Company Employees,
recreational associations searching for Italian ‘food and wine tourism’ product
suggestions to market across Europe as well as across Japan, Brazil, Russia,
Canada and USA.
According to a Coldiretti
(federation of Italian farmers) research dated August 2013 concerning the
census of traditional Italian agricultural and food products, Italy positions
first in food specialties and is world leader in food and wine tourism: More
than 24 billion Euros (one third of the expense) were spent last year in Italy
by domestic and foreign tourists to eat in restaurants and trattorias
and to purchase typical products.
